These collages are part of a series about Pacific Northwest marine animals that I am currently working on. My aim is to make a book with text to educate people about these animals and the ocean environment. The collages are made of tissue paper and one-of-a-kind aluminum foil that I have made from the pull-offs of freshly painted wet boards. Camouflage is a design strategy I sometimes use as that's the defense strategy of many marine animals, for example in the Giant Pacific Ray collage.
